Certificated Flight Instructor

The Certificated Flight Instructor certificate requires a minimum of a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating.  Much of the initial CFI training is ground training with an experienced CFI.  This estimate assumes that the applicant moves directly from the CFI training to the CFII training.  Training for all of our certificates is done on an individual basis.  Training is one-on-one and the initial CFI training requires that your instructor have at least 2 years of experience and at least 200 hours of dual given.    In all cases we cater our training to your schedule.  The breakdown for the CFI/CFII is as follows:

Initial CFI Cost:
  •    Flight Hours - 182RG - 13
  •    Total hours w/ Instructor - 30
  •    Books / Supplies
  •    ** Written Test Fees (2)**
  •    ** Check Ride Fee **
Total Cost: $5,185.00

CFII Cost:
  •    Flight Hours - 172SP - 10
  •    Total hours w/ Instructor - 25
  •    Books / Supplies
  •    ** Written Test Fees **
  •    ** Check Ride Fee **
Total Cost: $3,470.00
Total Cost for Both: $8,655.00
** = Associated Cost, not charged by PA.

Your total cost will vary based on how much actual flight time you acquire and based on how much ground time is necessary to ensure that you gain the necessary knowledge and the required comfort with teaching procedures and techniques.  If you would like to speak with an instructor about how you can determine your own cost, please do not hesitate to call.  Thank you for your interest in the Peak Aviation, we look forward to hearing from you.
